I go there and cut the tail using a bow first. No crossbow, those things have shit aiming.
I've only ever killed the bridge wyvern once and that was with its Map-Fall glitch, but that was patched a long time ago.
It's really easy to get past though. Just aggro it, hide behind the left wall on the bridge, and then when it lands, fucking run. You don't have to fight it, and you actually can't. It'll regen faster than you can damage it with the bow and arrows you can get at that point in the game.
Cut the tail with a bow though. You get a decent sword that'll last a while. Don't bother upgrading it, it'll be obsolete once you build a Quelaag's Furysword/Chaos Blade/Chaos Washing Pole

Well, I don't usually play Action RPGs/Hack 'n Slash games. I'm more a FPS player (No. I hate CoD. Real pros play Counter Strike, Unreal Tournament, or Quake), but I like challenging games even if it means I'll end dying up to 30 times.
